New Plymouth District comprises a dramatic landscape, from the coast of the Tasman Sea to the single-cone Mount Taranaki/Egmont, with tightly folded hill country in the east and a grassy ring plain to the south and west.
The district enjoys high sunshine hours, good levels of rainfall and the moderating influence of the sea on its temperatures, and has good connections through broadband internet, road, rail, air and sea – the latter from New Zealand’s only deep-water port on the west coast, Westgate Port Taranaki.
