Papakura as a district is growing faster than the greater Auckland area, but it has been fortunate to retain its friendly character and much of the classic Kiwi “town” feel as the greater Auckland area intensifies. Lifestyles in the district are as diverse as the people who live here. Papakura is considered a great place to raise a family, and attracts a wide range of prospective residents to its various suburbs. There is a real sense of community and an appreciation of the District’s many open, green spaces. Situated south of Manukau and Auckland cities, close to Auckland International Airport and with excellent access to major road networks, the passenger rail system and motorway, Papakura maintains its role as a gateway for freight, travel and commerce to the north and south.
