Auckland Regional Council

This material is now obsolete and remains for historical interest. The Auckland Regional Council was disestablished in 2010 with the creation of the Auckland Council as a unitary authority - the "SuperCity"

The Auckland Region: Although it houses almost a third of the country's population, the Auckland region is the smallest in New Zealand. It extends from Wellsford in the north, to Pukekohe in the south and covers an area 16,140 square kilometres including coastal marine waters with a 3300km long coastline.
